Among dem wey don suffer, na the state chairman, Engr. Ade Adetimehin, wey collect serious beating. The elders wey gather under the PBAT Mandate Elders Forum no fit just sit down look. Dem don come out sharply to condemn the wahala wey don happen, calling am unnecessary and calling on every APC member to shine their eye.
Chairman of the elders forum, Pa Erastus Akeju, wey talk on behalf of dem, no hold back. E talk say the attack no just dey good; e dey go against everything wey democracy stand for. E don report say about 15 elders suffer injury for the hand of these political thugs. This kind thing suppose no happen for any place wey dem dey claim say na democracy-dey reign.
Akeju even talk say, ‘Intimidation and violence no fit join body with politics.’ Na so dem take time build APC with ideas and better discussion, no be with fighting and running mouth. If leaders dey fear to gather, wetin remain for political order? Everyone suppose dey free to talk their mind without fingers dey point for their head.
Dem elders also don call on President Bola Tinubu, say make e use him moral authority to restore peace for APC. As e be now, if dem no do something sharp, the wahala go turn dem party against demself even before 2027 election wey dey come.
The elders dey fear say the way wey thugs dey carry out their matter fit destroy the party. Dis unity wey dem dey shout about go enter pot of soup if dem no make am clear say violence nobody wan see for their party. Akeju make am clear say, ‘Violence no get space for democracy’ and na so dem dey push for better handshake to go and make everybody dey okay.
Dem dey call on all members to shun violence, even with all these palava wey don happen, and face better ways to resolve any disagreement. Because if Ondo State become battleground, na all of dem go suffer am!
APC no suppose turn to place wey every fight dey happen for inside, dem get enough work to do to show dem self as real leaders before the entire country.
