Fire no dey respect anybody o, e just waka come and destroy plenty shops wey plenty people don dey use their sweat build since. Dem say goods and property worth millions of naira just go down for smoke! E be like say na five shops wey dey one building catch fire, and you know say na people wey dey sell electrical appliances and electronic parts dey there.
Eyewitnesses no fit talk wetin cause the fire, but dem dey suspect say na power surge kuku start am. Na so officials come rush the scene, quickly disconnect the electric cables make e no turn to something wey go affect people wey dey around.
Fire Chief Chukwudi Chiketa no slack at all. Him talk say, “We respond to the distress call quick, and we fit control the blaze.” E come add say the fire don start around 9 am, and dem don deploy their team and equipment fast-fast.
Chukwudi explain say the building na one-storey structure, and the fire don burn five shops wey dey upstairs. The good news be say nobody die, and plenty shops wey dey downstairs save from the fire.
But Chukwudi still advise all the traders make dem dey careful. “E good make every store owner get fire extinguishers as a backup plan because this kin wahala fit happen anytime,” he yarn.
