Chai! My people, WAEC don open the jar of results wey dem dey hold tight since last year. Na the 2025 Second Series of the Computer-Based WASSCE for private candidates wey just drop, and e no fine at all! If you check am well, you go see say performance don drop by 11.47 percentage points compared to 2024.
WAEC Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina, talk say only 42.17% of di candidates wey sit for di exam manage carry credit for at least five subjects, including English and Mathematics. Last year, na 53.64% we see, so you fit sabi say this one na serious wahala for our students.
Dem break down di figures for us: out of 65,752 candidates wey show face for di exam, just 27,727 people fit secure di five credits wey di exam dey demand. So, you fit see say dem dey struggle small. If we check better, di stats show say 51.69% of candidates get at least five credits, no matter di subject.
Na even worse e go be for di private candidates o, because dem no fit compare dem directly with di school candidates. E mean say those wey dey outside school system, na dem dey bear di brunt of this performance decline. E no sweet anybody for this side sha.
Now, for dem wey dey ask how many people register, dem let us sabi say 69,604 candidates register, which be 1.8% increase from di 68,342 wey start for 2024. From di number, 65,752 come dey sit di exam for 370 centres across di country. Wetin also shock me be say 94.21% of dem get di results fully processed. But we still get 3,809 candidates wey dey wait because some error don jam dem.
WAEC don dey try hard to clear di wahala, but dem also talk say 1,899 candidates still get their results withheld due to alleged malpractice. Dem dey investigate and go carry di matter go committee wey go determine wetin go happen next.
When we check di gender breakdown, we fit see say 48.68% of di candidates na boys while 51.32% na girls. Even for di five credits wey include English and Mathematics, girls dey show say dem dey fire better, as 51.61% of dem carry am compared to di boys wey only manage 48.39%
As di exam waka between November 11 and December 17, 2025, WAEC don advice all candidates make dem check their results online and begin collect di digital copies of their certificates. If you still want di hard-copy, make you request through dem certificate portal.
So, my people, if you dey among di candidates, make you no waste time, go check your results quick-quick! Na wetin fit change your level be dat.
