As dem gather for Abuja on Monday, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari, come yan say this initiative na turning point for our agriculture story under Bola Tinubu. He talk say dem go start by deploying 600 tractors first, and later dem go add 750 and 650 tractors join am, till dem reach the total of 2,000 heavy-capacity tractors.

The tractors no go just dey given out like say na giveaway. Dem go hand am over to Mechanisation Service Providers, wey go manage am well. Each tractor fit service about 600 hectares per year, so na productivity we dey talk here oo! And e no go end for 2,000 farmers alone; e go touch 1.2 million farmers!
He still talk about how Bank of Agriculture go collaborate with Heifer International to bring structured financing models wey go make sure say e dey sustainable. So no fear, dem go make sure say these tractors no dey idle any how. Dem go dey work and dey add value for agriculture supply chain.
Plus, the Minister talk say each of the tractors go come with two years of free service support. Na to maintain the tractors well well for better performance. E get as e be, mechanisation wey no get maintenance na just wastage, but with maintenance, na solid investment!
Dem dey prepare to launch 36 mobile service trucks and build seven mega mechanisation service centres across Naija, plus one mega tractor assembly plant wey go dey produce between 2,000 and 4,000 tractors yearly.
