Last Wednesday, for one Stakeholder Engagement Forum wey dem hold for Lagos, Okeke show how serious di mata be. E talk say fraud don dey rise like bread wey dey rise for oven. Only between 2022 and 2024, dem don jam 350% increase for fraud cases. Na serious matter o!
Di new ISO 37003:2025 go provide framework wey go help any organisation – big or small, private or public – to prevent, detect, and respond to fraud. E no be like di old methods wey no plenty sabi, this one na modern way wey dey allow organisations fit embed control measures inside di way dem dey manage operations.
“Fraud dey shake trust, spoil institutions, and e dey threaten di way we fit develop as country,” Okeke yarn. Di big news be say dis ISO no go dey hard like calculus, e dey designed to fit any size or structure of organisation. Na so e fit encourage dem to balance according to wetin dem fit manage.
Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, wey dey chair di SON National Technical Committee (NTC), come join di gist too. E tok say e no go fit understand why companies no go want jump on top dis ISO matter, because e go help dem dey secure ground. E add say dem fit identify fraud risks and build correct systems wey go make dem no dey wait for di fraud before dem take action.

Dem come discuss practical ways to push di adoption of dis standard. Everybody agree say e be like time wey we need to freshen up our act for Nigeria wey dey crave transparency and accountability.
