On top budget defence session wey happen on top Tuesday, all dem lawmakers gather for Senate and House of Representatives come use their mouth talk say dis budget wey Air Force present dey too small! Dem say the country dey face serious security wahala and di money no go fit do wetin e suppose do.
Chairman of di Joint Committee on Air Force, Senator Osita Ngwu, na im open mouth talk say all of dem dey agree say dem no go gree di proposal as e be. Dem do their homework well well, check di figures and see say e no make sense to allow dem carry dat kind budget wey no fit handle current security gbege.
Na wetin dem talk be say, “Di budget no dey enough to give di Air Force di firepower wey dem need to fight insurgency and other criminal matter waisted for ground.” Na true talk, because everybody no say Nigeria dey face plenty problems like banditry for North-West and all dis kidnapping matter all over di place.
Di role of di Air Force no fit under-emphasize o. Dem dey give ground troops air support and also dey do surveillance to make sure say our people dey safe. As dem dey face all dis funding wahala, Ngwu talk say dem go set up six-member panel to discuss with proper stakeholders concern di matter. Dem wan find way to make dis budget more realistic.
Dis committee dey call on Federal Government make dem cooperate well for di matter, because security na priority wey concern every Nigerian citizen. “E be like say plenty of our people dey hide dia head in di sand, we need serious action against insurgency,” Ngwu talk again.
Na only last year, about 70% of di 2025 capital budget for all dem government departments rollover into dis year, but dem still no fit release enough money for dem to work with. Na serious matter because even di little wey dey na for dem no fit meet di challenges wey dey on ground.
For di matter, co-chairman of di committee, Rt. Hon. Kabiru Alhassan don also weigh in, come talk say if we no increase funding for di Air Force, how dem go fit tackle di insecurity wey dey spread for everywhere? Dem need strong backing to fight di insurgents and bandits wey no wan gree rest.
As di rejection of dis budget dey happen, e dey show say di whole national assembly dey vex sobre for how security dey manage. Lawmakers don sabi say if dem no fund di security agencies well, e fit jeopardize di peace and stability wey everybody dey wish for.
