Di protest start early-well, around 7 o’clock, as di residents begin block road wey lead to di Millennium City Divisional Police Headquarters. Dem dey chant and dey vex like sey dem go fit catch di bandits if dem see dem face. E no good again, my people! Dem say dis latest wahala happen around 11:30pm on Sunday.
Di people wey bandits carry go be Malam Yahaya Yusuf, im wife wey be Latifat Yusuf, and their two pikin, Abdulgafar and Abdulqudus. No forget Mrs Abdulrazak Jimoh and two of her own children wey also join di party no be by choice. E mean say dis don be 11 people wey dem don kidnap for di area within few months. Chai!
Residents dey fear say di attacks dey target non-indigenes wey dey live for di community. E dey make dem suspect say some people for di area fit dey expose dem to di bandits. One of di protesters wey no wan show im identity talk say di bandits come in large numbers, armed to di teeth with sophisticated weapons. Dem come with AK-47, no be small!
Di protest leader, Mr Akoh Salifu, wey be di Chairman of Danhonu II Landlords Association, talk say di community don reach di breaking point. “We dey here because we need peace back. Di pressure from dis kidnappings don too much for us,” he talk. E no be lie because some youths even try to follow di kidnappers enter bush after di attack but dem no fit catch dem. Wetin be this one na?
Dem rush go police station to report case because dem no fit continue like dis again. When dem ask di Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, e confirm say dem receive distress call after di incident but dem reach late. Di terrain no dey friendly, and di bandits don already belleful-run with di victims. E come make am dey more serious.
Di Police big man, CP Rabiu Muhammad, don sabi di matter too. He visit di community, gather di stakeholders, and give dem assurance say dem go consider open police outpost for di area. Make e happen quick-sharp before di next set of kidnappers show themself again! We dey wait!
