Na during wetin dem call interactive programme wey she do for Eagle7 Sports Radio 103.7 FM, she talk am. The show na led by football legend Segun Odegbami. Iyabo don talk say pressure from her supporters na wetin carry her come back to politics after 15 years absence. She talk say, ‘Some people wey I no even form, don dey look for me for two years now, dey say make I come back.’ You fit imagine how dem gather like mumu don jam jam!
Na wah! Iyabo no fit go back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where she dey contest before because e dey shake like jollof rice wey don dey cool down. She talk say, ‘I could not go back to the PDP because of all kinds of turmoil.’ Na so she start to waka towards APC.
Even as she talk say she also consider the African Democratic Congress (ADC), e be like say she no dey see any clear road there too. She say, ‘Dem no get their ducks in a row yet; dem still dey work on am.’ Na hin make her eyes shine for APC wey she call her ‘natural home’.
Iyabo no carry any bad belle for anybody inside APC o. She insist say she dey feel comfortable with the people wey she sabi inside the party. Meanwhile, her political journey no be small matter, our babe represent Ogun Central between 2007 and 2011 before she pack come go USA go pursue her academic career.
When dem ask am wetin her plan be for this her new chapter, Iyabo no gree look back. She don make am clear say she no wan return as commissioner or go back to Senate. Instead, she dey eye Ogun state governorship seat straight! ‘I’m not going to be Commissioner… The only thing I’ll come back to do is the governorship,’ she yan.
