As February 5, 2026, enter town, investors dey smile as market capitalisation don increase sharply by N1.27 trillion. E don stand at N109.13 trillion now, from N107.86 trillion wey dem record the day before. No be small thing o!
All-Share Index follow join the party, as e gain some serious weight with 1,975.18 points, which be like 1.18 percent increase. E go by 170,005.36 points now. If we check am for 2026 intro, na 9.25 percent increase we see for market so far. No be joke! For the week alone, index don rise 2.71 percent, and for the past four weeks, e don blow up by 5.72 percent. Na total 712,937,120 shares wey dem exchange for 46,078 deals, meaning dem turn over N22.23 billion! E sweet die!
Market no dey dull at all. We see 129 equities they participate, and 55 stocks dey carry win for their side, while 19 go dey with losses. Seplat Petroleum na di jollof of di day, as e don shine bright with 10 percent increase, wey bring am to N7,370 for each share. Other winners wey dey shine include Coronation Infrastructure Fund, Guinea Insurance, and RT Briscoe, all dey carry gain like say dem get breeze for back.
But no be everybody dey enjoy o! Deap Capital Management & Trust dey cry small, as e don drop 9.62 percent to land at N6.20 per share. Follow for the crying side, we get Universal Insurance Company, Haldane McCall, and Red Star Express, all of dem dey for loss mode with declines wey range from 9.43 percent to 9.04 percent. Na wah!
For trading volume, Access Holdings dey hold the crown with 107 million shares wey dem exchange, Chams and Champion Breweries sharply dey follow with 44.5 million shares each, while Universal Insurance Company dey show presence with 34.8 million shares. E be like say na party for all these companies!
Sector by sector, na good news dey reign. Oil & Gas Index dey perform like hustle of the year, as e don surge by 4.68 percent. Premium Index join the dance with 2.80 percent increase, and Top 30 Index no wan carry last, as e rise by 1.16 percent too. Even others like Pension, Banking, and Industrial indices dey enjoy warm embrace of good gains of 1.56 percent, 0.64 percent, and 0.79 percent respectively. E be like say things dey turn around for better!
