The Majority Leader, Ikenna Ofodeme, na him move the motion for the third reading, and e get serious backing from Deputy Minority Leader, Nobel Igwe. Speaker of the House, Somtochukwu Udeze, come dey shine him eye well as dem finish am. Na today dem suppose clap well, because this bill na big deal for Anambra!
As e be, this new commission go start work officially on February 17. Dem go dey investigate financial crimes and any corruption wey dey affect Anambra State Government. No more wahala for investigation, because this new agency go take over every case wey concern corruption for the state.
Udeze yarn say dem go dey report regular progress to the Governor and the Anambra House of Assembly. E also talk say dem go use the law make sure say no Okada man or any resident go face injustice because of how dem wan do their work. Na serious matter o! Dem go pay special attention to every administrative action wey no follow wetin law talk.
He further add say this commission go dey investigate government contracts wey no execute well. If any contract no dey work, dem go carry am go meet Attorney-General. Na so dem go make sure say nobody dey chop money without accountability!
Wetin dey sweet me pass be say, when the Governor sign this bill, the commission go get power to coordinate all anti-corruption laws for Anambra. Dem fit freeze, take or seize anything wey dem see fit when e come to proceeds from corruption, but na court go first give order.
Other things wey dey inside this bill na the ability to share information, both science and technical kind, so that dem fit join force dey remove all this corruption wey dey disturb us. Lawmakers dey shine their eyes as dem believe say this move go boost anti-corruption efforts and help conduct public enlightenment campaigns against bad practices.
