Last year, dem launch campaign wey dey focus on how we fit change cancer care for better. Na so area dey matter, because we need to look beyond wetin we dey call biological causes, make we add the psychological and social wahala wey dey affect our pipo recovery too. Abeg, no be only hospital wey they treat cancer; we gatz look the whole person!
Di truth be say, about 1 in 5 persons go waka with cancer for dem life. Wahala! But World Cancer Day go carry plenty activities both online and offline to raise awareness. Na time wey we suppose join hands to support people wey don dey face this yawa and also the caregivers wey dey stand by dem.
The campaign dey get help from UICC wey don take time to highlight how patients and dem families fit provide insight to healthcare wey fit work best for dem, no be one-size-fits-all.
According to wetin dem find out, about 37% of new cancer cases wey don show face for 2022 fit don be prevented with simple measures like no dey smoke, no dey drink too much alcohol, and dey eat beta food. Na data from WHO wey show say di way we dey live fit affect our health na serious matter!
Concerning na dat wey go make una think am well, dis new study don conclude say smoking na number one enemy wey dey lead to cancer, followed by infections wey dey cause wahala for body. For di men dem, about 23% new cancer cases don link am to smoking while women dey follow behind with infections dey cause dem wahala. But na we go fit change story by making better lifestyle choices!
