Alaafin and Olubadan: Royal Wahala Don Start Again!

Naija people, wahala dey ground for Oyo as Alaafin and Olubadan don carry their mata go court! E be like say dem no fit chill since last last 20 years, naow dem don wake up from slumber.

So, the new Alaafin, Akeem Owoade I, don dey flex hin muscle since him take throne in April 2025. E wan show say he be the koni-kon king for Yoruba land, but for wetin? E dey step on toes and make we wonder if royal respect don scatter.

This whole issue don blow hot recently when Owoade refuse to gree the rotational chairmanship for the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs wey Gov Seyi Makinde set up. Olubadan Rashidi Ladoja dey ready to take chair, but Alaafin no show face for inaugural ceremony. Chai! No be small drama!

Makinde talk say dem agree for the rotation plan after meeting with the big kings. But Alaafin dey talk say no such meeting ever happen. Na here wahala don start! Social media don turn to war front, as dem dey show clip wey dem dey snub each other. E be like say dem wan carry tradition fight enter online.

Owoade go even talk say Ooni of Ife, Enitan Ogunwusi, no fit install Okanlomo of Yorubaland. Ooni no even gree give am mouth, drop am for public opinion. Dis beef no be small matter o; e get political undertone too, as dem dey involve President Tinubu family. Na so we see say Ooni install Tinubu wife, and Alaafin follow drop him son as Okanlomo days later. E be like competition for who get power more, abi na who get the best title?

This supremacy wahala dey cause plenty wahala since the days of old. From Alaafin and Ooni fight for dominance, to the split of Oyo into six states, e don turn to other obas fight among themselves. Different approaches for Ondo and Osun states don work, but Oyo still dey suffer from this power tussle.

Alaafin wan permanent chair, while Olubadan and others dey believe in rotation. Na wetin? If dem no resolve am, Oyo people go continue to suffer. History don teach us say dis fight for supremacy no dey take anybody anywhere.

For this time wey kidnapping dey rampant, abeg, no dey forget say royal leaders suppose focus on fixing their communities. Instead of fighting each other, make dem join forces against bandits wey dey terrorize dem. January alone show say people dey die for Oyo because of dis wahala!

Dem don forget say dem dey serving the people? Royalty suppose mean service, not fight. If dem no wise up, history go remember dem for their quarrels instead of for their service to the people. We need unity, no more of dis unnecessary rivalries. Yoruba heritage dey at stake!
