Governor Dapo Abiodun no just dey sit down for corner, he don show serious support for education as he don gift N8.5 million to the best graduating students for Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU). Na during their 35th convocation ceremony wey happen recently for Ago-Iwoye, him send him Deputy, Noimot Salako-Oyedele to represent him.
Abiodun don chop the matter well, as e drop N500,000 for each of the 13 best graduates from different faculties. E no stop there o! E also drop extra N2 million for Master Ajayi David, wey shine pass everybody and carry the title of overall best graduating student from the Faculty of Engineering. E be like say this one no be small wahala o!
For the event wey full with groove and celebration, Governor Abiodun talk say, “This 35th Convocation dey celebrate academic excellence, access, and institutional relevance.” E that one mean say him sabi wetin e dey talk. Him dey promote proper decision-making based on reliable data, so all the education matter fit shine like Lagos sun.
As e dey congratulate all the students wey don graduate, Abiodun encourage dem to no just stop for this one level. E advise dem make dem continue to learn, ask questions, and carry OOU banner go far. He talk say these cash awards na clear proof say him government dey serious about fostering talent and rewarding excellence. Na so we fit see say education dey very important for his agenda.
The Governor no forget to praise OOU for producing graduates wey sabi wetin dem dey do. Him talk say the university dey uphold high standards for discipline, innovation, and service. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ayodeji Agboola also join for the matter as him praise OOU tradition of excellence, say na so dem fit dey rank for 16th position among 321 Nigerian universities, based on wetin dem don accomplish.
He even drop am say OOU dey second for state-owned universities for Nigeria, only behind LAUTECH. Abiodun commot cap for education matter as him talk say na dem go drive holistic development for the state. With all these moves, e clear say Ogun State dey set to shine brighter!
