Yobe Farmers Go Sabiji As Govt Share Equipment

My people, e be like say better days don dey shine for Yobe State farmers as Federal Government don start to distribute agricultural equipment and farm inputs. Na for Damaturu dem hold the flag-off ceremony, weyi happen for Thursday. Zarah Kachalla, wey represent the Minister of Agriculture, talk say dis move na to tackle food security wahala wey dey worry both Nigeria and di whole world.

She yarn say dem already declare food security emergency since July 2023, and na why dem dey revamp wetin dem dey do for agricultural sector. Dem don bring different items like power tillers, herbicides, liquid fertilizers, knapsack sprayers, water pumps, insecticides and certified seeds to help our farmers wey dey struggle with high production costs.

Dis equipment and inputs na gift, no be say farmers go pay. Dem distribute am free through cooperative groups and farmers wey get special needs. Ali Mustapha Goniri, di Yobe State Commissioner for Agriculture talk say dis support go help increase agricultural productivity for di state. E even drop bombshell say dem don distribute inputs wey dey worth over ₦17 billion to 5,340 beneficiaries in 2024 alone!

You go shock if I tell you say dem distribute more than ₦16 billion inputs to 27,000 farmers for 2025. Di Yobe State Coordinator of di Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Sulaiman Musa, talk say this distribution na part of nationwide support wey dem dey give to 50 cooperative groups in Yobe State. Maryam Yakubu, wey be Small Scale Women Farmers Association coordinator, talk say this intervention go help farmers manage di rising input costs wey don dey affect their farming.

Na so we dey see say government dey try to make sure say our farmers fit cope with all di wahala wey dey ground. Dis kind support go make farmers feel say dem no dey alone for dis journey, as dem dey fight for food security improve for di state. No be only for Yobe, but dis matter dey concern every corner of Naija too.
