Dem don see say about 139 million Nigerians dey live for below poverty line, and if we no do something fast, by 2026, e fit be 141 million people wey go dey struggle more for food and basic needs. E no sweet at all, my people!
According to UN World Food Programme, na about 35 million Nigerians go dey face serious food insecurity by 2026. Na the highest for Africa, no be small matter, and we fit say naija dey grip our stomach tight!
Khadija come talk say many Nigerians no fit buy food, dey suffer from malnutrition, especially women, children, old people, and even displaced persons. E cause wahala wey plenty for the North East, where plenty farmers dey face serious wahala because of insurgency wey spoil their farmlands and scatter their lives.
She yan say although security don improve small, many farmers still dey find am hard to come back to their farms again. Dem dey lack access to important things like inputs, finance, and all those things wey go help dem grow their crops. Omo, if dem no fit reintegrate these farmers back into farming, wahala go dey plenty for food supply and our economy go dey juggle!
After the motion don pass, dem urge President Bola Tinubu make e try design better strategy to tackle this hunger matter and harmonise all the poverty reduction and food security schemes wey dey play for Nigeria. Make dem focus on communities wey dey suffer the most from this insecurity, biko!
Dem also don order Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to work with other ministries to help farmers for the North East. Make dem give farmers everything dem need – from fertilizers to storage to irrigation, so that dem fit restore their livelihood, produce food and make sure say we dey get enough to chop!
Na serious matter e be, and make we no forget say our future dey tie to how we fit handle this agricultural recovery matter. The committees for House also dey instructed to dey keep watch on dis agricultural recovery and food security thing, particularly for conflict zones. Na so dem go fit report back for further action. Dis na just political gist, but e involve our daily bread, my brother and sister!
