Nigeria Don Chop N55.5tn for Crude Oil in 2025!

Omo, e be like say crude oil dey sweet Nigeria pipo bele well well! According to recent report, Nigeria don gather average of N55.5 trillion from crude oil sales for year 2025!

Na dem figures wey Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC) and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) release come show say we produce 530.41 million barrels of crude oil last year. This amount na bigger pass the N50.88 trillion we collect for 2024. True talk, crude oil price average $72.08 last year!

The year start strong as we pump 47.70 million barrels in January, but the wahala no finish there. As February come, output drop reach 41.02 million barrels. E no be only that, we manage bounce back small for March with 43.42 million barrels before e rise again to 44.57 million barrels for April. But as wetin go be, second quarter no bad as we still dey around 45.04 million barrels in May and 45.16 million in June.

Third quarter na different story altogether, we see wey crude production take climb again to 46.73 million barrels for July, then fall to 44.47 million barrels in August and further drop to 41.69 million barrels for September. Na wetin fit call lowest level wey we see for the year!

Before we conclude de year, we shine small as production rise to 43.44 million barrels in October, 43.08 million barrels in November, and finally 44.08 million barrels in December. Na one big win for NUPRC as e show say even if no too dey meet OPEC quota, crude oil revenue dey steady for revenue generation.

However, my people, dis crude oil na still wahala matter. E no be say all dis N55.5 trillion go enter government pocket, as na gross revenue we dey talk about, no be net! Dem still get plenty things to clear, like production cost, oil theft, and all dem wahala wey dey scatter pipeline.

We fit still remember 2024 when we produce 408.68 million barrels and gather N50.88 trillion. Officer wey dey on top for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited don talk say dem dey service loan Wey dey reach $3 billion using crude oil wey worth N991 billion! E be like say dem wan use crude naija oil do magic!

Na only true shout make OPEC still dey tell us say our output dey below wetin dem quota give us. For December 2025, we drop 14,000 barrels daily, as output fall from 1.436 mbpd in November to 1.422 mbpd in December, no reach 1.5 mbpd quota wey OPEC set. For nine months of 2025, we too dey fall below OPEC quota; only January, June, and July we manage to make am or slightly go higher.

As we dey look 2026, dem still dey adjust the numbers, as we go now estimate wey drop to 1.84 million barrels per day, with estimate price of $64.85 for crude! I dey sure say dem wan make safe plans no be lofty target again!

Experts don talk say government need to address many serious challenges wey dey affect oil production. Security matter dey hold us down, pipeline dey vandalize, and plenty other palava wey dey happen! But nobody fit deny say e get some good news! Like e don dey talk say President dey work to attract investors, and if dem fit bring in better incentives, oil production fit rise!

Make I clear, no be say wahala no dey, but if government fit tackle the cost of doing business and keep investors safe, better things dey wait for us. We just need to make sure say those wey dey sit on top oil wells dey do their work well, so Nigeria fit chop better from oil!
