“We no fit just dey look as wahala dey happen; trained vigilantes must support them,” na wetin e talk as e emphasize say these guys go fit support operations once dem land for their zones.
Dem go train the 3,000 vigilantes in batches of 500 to make sure say dem no overload the training facilities; even women go join the subsequent batches to fit meet community needs. Na serious matter, as the governor promise say dem go dey sustain this programme well, providing allowances, logistics, and monitoring.
The training no be play; e go cover tactics, intelligence gathering, human rights, first aid, weapon handling, and signals. And instructors? Na from all the serious agencies like DSS, Police, and Army, among others. Dem dey prepare these vigilantes to stand gidigba for their communities.
Kebbi don join plenty states wey dey form community-based security outfits to catch the alert early and respond fast, especially for dem rural areas. The Idris government don see the need to boost these outfits as dem don secure federal approval to allow trained men waka far alongside regular security.
Retired Colonel Danladi Ribah Zuru, the special adviser on security, come yarn say dis training go build upon previous phases wey don happen, this time dem dey upgrade the curriculum and coordination well, well. Zuru also talk say the governor don approve 32 vehicles, 511 motorcycles, plus allowances to support dem well for field operations.
As the current batch dey prepare to graduate on Thursday, Zuru disclose say dem get plans for the remaining 2,500 vigilantes to train dem in three phases, with the camp wey fit hold up to 850 trainees. Na serious security reform matter we dey talk so!
