Nigeria Power Grid Don Dey Collapse Again, E Fit Worry Us

Wahala don dey for Nigeria power sector as grid collapse no wan gree rest. Just last month, dem don experience three major disturbances wey make people dey vex well well. Dis na serious matter, my people!

Electricity distribution companies, wey sabi blame anything wey cool down their light, don talk say low power generation na di main reason for dis latest wahala. But wetin dem no go fit argue na say we dey return to di era wey grid dey collapse like say na monthly package.

For January alone, we don see two grid collapse already. D first one happen on December 29, 2025, and now January 23 and 27, two time back to back. Na wetin we go call this kind trend? E no b good sign at all!

According to PUNCH report, na just 39 megawatts power dem generate on Tuesday wey pass last month at 3,825 MW. E be like say light fit no wan show face again, as load allocation to di DisCos na 0.00 MW. Meanwhile, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company don dey beg customers as wahala don scatter everywhere.

DisCos spokesman, Sunday Oduntan, don come assure say dem dey work hard to fix things, but he still admit say low power generation na di big problem wey dey ground. Na cash wey dey needed to stabilize di grid, but wetin happen? We still dey receive small power!

For Gombe Transmission Substation, dem say voltage disturbance na him cause the latest shake. But na wetin dis kind disturbance mean for wey dey depend on light? E mean say we still no dey safe. As for di restoration, e don return to normal, but nobody sabi when next wahala go happen again.

A lot of people don dey complain say di power situation no fit continue dis way, especially after di small relief wey dem taste last year. Dis na bad news for people wey depend on electricity for everything, from cooking to making money! E go make market for generator dey swell up again.

Dis grid collapses no just dey affect light supply, but dem dey carry plenty wahala for di economy as well. E dey show say we need serious investment for di infrastructure and all di wahala surround gas supply, vandalism, and maintenance dey dey clear as day. If we no fit fix am, e mean say plenty people go remain without light, and dat one na serious issue!
