For wetin happen, e talk am say, na wahala wey him get with Ebere Bassey, the mama of the children, na im make dem separate. E don vex before about dis waka far issue. Just two years ago, e bin talk say e no fit see him children life again. But now, e don come back to make emotional appeal, say e dey “dying in silence” because e still won see dem.
Kingsley, wey hail from Ihiala for Anambra State, na true Naija papa. Him first three sons wey include Elvis and Mathew born for Italy, while the youngest, Michael, na for Ireland. Dem all live together for London before wahala scatter dem family.
“We dey argue like married people. One day, I go work, when I come back, she don pack the children and waka,” him explain for viral video wey don catch fire for social media. “She only reach out to me when dem need Nigerian passports in 2017. I do all the things wey dem need. Even when dem come stay with me, I no tell dem their mama do me anything.”
Calvin Bassey, wey don rise to stardom since he join Leicester City, later move to Rangers, and now e dey Fulham. E don collect 43 caps for Nigeria and dey shine for Africa Cup of Nations. But one interesting twist be say, as e don grow, e don start to use him mama surname, Bassey, instead of Ughelumba, wey be him papa name. He once talk say, “I just no sabi my papa well, na my mama na him dey raise me.”
Ughelumba Sabi say since 2020, plenty time e don try reconnect with him children but all na wahala. “I no see dem for long. One time, during COVID, I drive go Leicester to see Calvin, but I no fit reach am because their mama don change everything!” him dey vex plight.
When e finally reach Leicester City, the club gree call Calvin, and him respond immediately when dem call him childhood nickname “Biggy”. But as e see him papa, everything scatter again. “Him call him mama, after that, he don vex and tell me say make I just talk my own and waka,” Ughelumba lament.
Him don even go Abidjan for Africa Cup of Nations just to see him son again, but nothing work as he no fit see am. “E don dey pain me for chest,” he said. “No be my children I get wahala with, na their mama make everything dey like dis.” As we dey talk now, Calvin never respond to him papa wahala.
