My people, abeg gather here as I bring una beta gist wey dey hot! The Minister of State for Works, Bello Goronyo, don vex wella for Zaria-Sheme Road project wey dey move like snail after him inspect am for Sheme, Katsina State. Man don deliver the report as he no fit hide im feelings again!
This road matter no be small wahala o! Na part of Zaria-Funtua–Sokoto road wey affect Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara and Sokoto states, and na four contractors dey handle am. Goronyo yarn say Mothercat Nigeria Limited dey manage the phase one and two from Sheme to Zaria while CBC dey cover 105 kilometres to Talatan Mafara in Zamfara. E no stop there, Triacta dey work from Talatan Mafara to Gusau, while Setraco dey handle the last section from Gusau back to Sheme.
As Goronyo dey talk for the Zaria-Sheme area, he praise Mothercat for di quality of work but no fit hide im disappointment for the slow pace wey dey happen. According to am, di completion just move from seven per cent wey dem see last year to 17 per cent wey dem dey see now, and he seyy e no dey okay at all!
The minister say na President Bola Tinubu give am order to check this project, alongside Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, plus some Directors wey dey assess the situation. E talk say excuses no go work for dis matter; make contractors step up dem game as di timeline dey loom!
Goronyo gree say Mothercat promise to complete 21 kilometres on both lanes by March and get ready for about 98 kilometres within the next 11 to 12 months. But he no dey play with dem o, as he don talk say everybody wey belong to the project go dey monitored, make sure say dem no slack!
As he waka for Triacta corridor, Goronyo sharp eye dey catch dem too, as he reduce dem work to just 37 kilometres from Maru to Zamfara. He no wan hear any story, matter of fact, he talk say dem go reassign the remaining sections to another contractor wey go fit deliver quality work on time. Na so him sabi wahala!
Di minister no forget to thank other folks like Tinubu, Umahi, villagers and even di media wey dey keep everybody in the loop about di road progress. E say dem contractors need to help maintain di damaged parts, make road for motorist smooth join together.
As normal, Ziad Karam, wey be di Project Manager for Mothercat, tell di minister say challenge dey wey dem dey face, such as price rise for materials and Naira dey fall like wetin we no fit measure. E talk say dem still dey wait for rescoping for phase one, and some compensation matter wey dey on ground as dem no fit ignore am.
So my people, him wan serious work make we fit see progress and not just empty promises. Make we dey watch as dis road matter dey unfold! Stay tuned for more updates!
