Last Saturday, as SWAN, di Sports Writers Association of Nigeria come visit am for him palace for Otukpo, wetin him talk no carry wahala. Him don urge di association to step ahsow for grassroots sports development all over di country. Na serious matter wey dey chook inside di development of our young talents, my brothers!
SWAN President, Mr Isaiah Benjamin, come present letter of appointment to di Och’Idoma, making am di National Patron of SWAN. You fit see say dis monarch no be person wey go just sit down dey collect honor, him don talk say e go turn am to responsibility. E don ready to support everything wey go help bring unity and excellence through sports and media.
As him dey accept di appointment, Och’Idoma talk say, “I accept this appointment not merely as an honour, but as a responsibility to support initiatives that promote unity, discipline and excellence through sports and the media.” Na true talk be dat o! Na so e go fit help young pipo flourish.
E come dey call SWAN to put more energy for grassroots sports and mentorship, no be only for di big players dem. Di man sabi wetin e dey talk, as e dey stress di importance of good journalism, and policy reforms wey go better athlete welfare and sports administration for Naija. Wetin we dey see for our sports bodies no be am o, but change go start from dis type of collaboration!
Di royal father still talk say traditional institutions and sports journalists gatz work hand-in-hand. “This is one of di means of mobilising communities and fostering peace through sports,” he add. Wetin no go fit happen if our journalists and traditional leaders dey align for one purpose? Make dem waka together, we fit solve many problem!
Och’Idoma no forget to hail SWAN, as dem don dey push sports promotion and youth development since 1964. E talk say sports na powerful tool wey dey empower youths and go fit build our country, wetin dem dey call nation-building. Na wetin we dey find for dis our Naija, trust me!
Earlier, di SWAN President Benjamin don talk say dem choose dis monarch as National Patron because of him commitment to peace, youth empowerment, and general development for di country. Dem sabi wetin dem dey do, and e go surely benefit Naija well well, no be lie!
