Governor Dr Alex Otti don shine eye for the fresh corps members wey don gather for NYSC orientation camp, and he don promise dem say if dem shine well, dem go get automatic job when dem finish dem service! No be small thing o!
Otti talk this one during scale-kpo of 1,820 corps members for Bende Local Government Area, where dem come gather for swearing-in ceremony. E tell dem say, ‘Make una no waste this opportunity wey dey come with NYSC, because if you no utilize am, you dey shortchange yourself o!’ Na serious matter be this o!
The Governor wey dey run Abia no be small, e emphasize say, the koko for NYSC na to expose the young ones to Nigeria’s many opportunities and how dem fit take contribute to make the State better. ‘We no dey look your family history, we dey look how you fit add value when you dey work,’ Otti yan.
Abia State dey follow tradition o, as them don dey give sharp employment opportunities to corpers wey sabi perform. Otti vibed them say dem fit take advantage of the state’s numerous programs wey dey focus on ICT, Agriculture, and Entrepreneurship. Na chance to prepare for the future beyond NYSC be this! E no ready hear say anybody dey slack!
As usual, Otti dey run mouth for the benefits wey NYSC dey give, e add say, ‘No matter where dem post you, make sure say you serve with all your strength and patriotism.’ Na wetin we dey expect from una, make you no forget say, dem need make una shine for the people you go meet.
Otti come keep am real as e talk say, make dem work hard, make dem leave good mark for the people wey dem go interact with when dem go start dem primary assignment.
Also, the Governor don pledge to support the NYSC scheme well-well, e no go leave dem hanging. E don plan to carry out phase two of the camp rehabilitation, so that dem go fit get better facilities.
For the orientation, Madam Mrs Gladys Adama, wey be the NYSC State Coordinator, don gree say na the foundation of their service year. E praise them on their academic success and emphasize say dem need to make full use of the skills wey dem go learn during the orientation.
Adama talk say dem don register 1,820 corps members, and urge dem to stay focused. She thank Otti for all the support, including the solar-powered lights, better food, and increased allowance.
