Na biology teacher Adeola Akinsulure, 42 years old, don enter top 10 for the GEMS Education Global Teacher Prize wey dey award $1 million. This woman eh, she dey hustle for wetin we fit call STEM education for Naija schools, and she no dey play at all!

Adeola sabi say education no be small matter. She come from Ikorodu and get big plans to help her students shine. With her first degree for Biochemistry and MBA for Marketing Management, she no follow for the usual keh keh; instead, she dey find better ways to make science sweet for her students. E don pass 10 years since she start dey use low-cost technology, like rechargeable projectors, to teach, even when dem no get light for their school!

Adeola no just dey teach, she dey inspire! She carry science come alive for her students by using edutainment, mixing play with serious learning. Hmmm, she dey bribe dem small-small with gifts if dem score well or answer question sharp sharp. Just imagine your teacher dey share crisp Naira notes as reward! Na so she dey motivate dem to dey on top their game.

Her story no finish for the classroom o. She dey create social media content and don even start initiative wey dem dey call STEM Collaborators, plus her KIND Teacher Initiative for teachers wey wan learn from her. Na im make Omole Senior Grammar School dey hot, as dem don enter top 50 schools for West Africa. Dey go announce the winner for Dubai during World Leaders Summit, and we dey pray say na Adeola go take am home!

Omo, the journey no be easy o. Na Mrs. Akande, her former principal, carry her come this far. Adeola dey praise am well well for supporting her and navigating her through different trainings. She don even attend the Fulbright Teaching Excellence programme—na serious credentials o! All this to say, she no dey search for recognition, she just want make her students dey intelligent and ready for the world.

Abeg, if she win this prize, she no go just scatter the money anyhow. She get plans! She wan use the $1 million to push science education forward and empower girls across Naija, especially for the North. Na only her dey represent Africa for this top 10, we go dey root for her, no be small!
