For one special ceremony wey happen for LASTMA Secretariat for Oshodi, Lagos, dem present cheque of N2 million to each family. Na big move wey show say government dey see the hard work and sacrifices of dem officers wey dey fight for road safety. E no easy at all, especially with the wahala wey dey for Lagos traffic!
Sola Giwa, the Special Adviser to the Govnor on Transportation, talk say this gesture no be as payment for dem officers loss, because nothing fit replace life. But na to show the appreciation of the state for the courage and duty of these fallen heroes.
“We no fit just forget dem. Today, we dey celebrate dem wey choose Lagos above dem own comfort,” Giwa yarn. The way wey dem dey risk dem life just to make sure say traffic dey for Lagos no be small thing o!
As dem dey remember the officers wey don go, LASTMA General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, also yarn say dem officers na true patriot! The Permanent Secretary for Transportation, Olawale Musa, come put mouth say this kind gesture go help boost trust for government. Na wetin we need, no be so?
Silifat Adeyemo, wey be the widow of Rotimi Adeyemo, one of the fallen officers, come dey shine with gratitude, dey thank the Govnor for making sure say their sacrifice no be in vain. You sabi say sometimes, na only mouth we dey take appreciate people, but this kind action dey sweet my belle!
