EU Don 557 Million Euros for Nigeria Humanitarian Aid

Wetin dey happen my people? European Union don drop serious gist! Dem don allocate 557 million euros to Nigeria and plenty African countries as humanitarian aid. This money no be small change o! E go help wey dey need am well well, especially for North-West region for Naija.

Dis announcement come from Mr Modestus Chukwulaka, wey be Press Officer for ECOWAS Embassy. E come at a time when 239 million people dey shout for help, and many donors dey reduce their funding. Na serious matter wey no dey sweet for mouth, but EU no wan disappoint dem wey dey suffer.

Na part of the larger 1.9 billion euros humanitarian budget wey EU don plan for 2026. Dis money go cover not just Nigeria, but also other West and Central African countries, the Sahel, Lake Chad basin, and even the Great Lakes region.

As Hadja Lahbib, the European Commissioner for Equality, dey carry this message go Davos, e dey try mobilise private sector money to help bridge the gap wey dey between wetin people need and wetin dey available. Dis kon make sense sha, because public money no fit carry all the load again.

According to the statement wey dem release, dis humanitarian aid go deliver emergency food, shelter, and healthcare to those wey dey suffer. Dem no dey joke for here; dem go make sure say those wey vulnerable get wetin dem need to survive.

And no be only Naija dey chop dis aid; EU go also give 448 million euros to the Middle East, 145 million euros for Ukraine, and even 126 million euros for Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iran. E no go easy for anybody, but EU dey try keep things moving!
