Na wah oh! Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori don carry N200 billion supplementary budget come meet Delta House of Assembly for their approval as e just dey hot.
For this budget, sharp-sharp wey dem propose, na N140.6 billion go take care of recurrent expenditure, while N59.4 billion go handle capital expenditure. E be like say dem dey plan something big for the state o! Speaker Dennis Guwor na him read the governor’s message during plenary for Asaba, and everybody just dey listen with two ears.
Oborevwori talk say dis supplementary budget go help dem maintain di MORE/Renewed Hope Agenda wey dem dey pursue. According to him, na so e go fit address plenty expenditures as e dey hot, cause di 2025 budget dey waka till January 31, 2026. Anyhow wey wan be, pensioners go dey smile as dem go receive some lump-sum payments to ease dem wahala.
Another thing wey dey make sense be say, dem go increase funding for state health insurance scheme, as more people dey join. But no be only good news o, dem dey face higher debt service from foreign loans too, plus more money wey local government go collect, and urgent community projects wey dey call for attention.
Oborevwori sharp guy don update di 2025 budget to N1.179 trillion, with N489.4 billion for recurrent and N689.8 billion for capital expenditure. Na so money dey waka for town, and e sure say di supplementary budget don pass first reading for Assembly.
So, my people, make we keep our eyes open as dis budget matter dey unfold, because na di way wey governors take manage money fit change di story for community level. Na Delta wey go still shine!
