Aiyedatiwa Don Empower 200 Women for Better Life!

No be small matter o! Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State don carry vocational tools give 200 women wey finish their training for O’Datiwa Skill Acquisition Programme. Dis one na big step for women wey learn different skills like ICT, tailoring, soap making, and catering. The programme dey sponsored by the state government through the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

As dem dey celebrate, the governor talk say dis initiative na part of wahala wey him administration dey face to reduce poverty for the state. E represent am self to the graduation ceremony with him deputy, Olayide Adelami, show say the government dey serious about changing di story of these women.

Lucky Aiyedatiwa say, “Today, we dey gather no be to just collect certificate, but to celebrate change – the change of our graduands from people wey dey idle to skilled women wey fit contribute to our economy.” Dis man sabi wetin e dey talk, because dem women don invest time and effort for rigorous training.

The governor no stop there, e encourage the women say this training no go end for here; na just the beginning. Him urge dem to use di skills wey dem collect well well, make dem no slack, and always dey learn new things. E go better when we dey create jobs instead of looking for jobs, he added.

Seun Osamaye, di state Commissioner for Women Affairs, join talk say this empowerment go help dem make better living. Before dis training, plenty of di beneficiaries dey feel hopeless without any source of income. But now, dem fit stand strong and take care of themselves.

E still talk say Ondo State government don show say empowerment be beta solution pass just dey give people small money. Di two hundred women wey don finish their training no go hear say dem dey ridicule again, na empowered women dem be now.

This empowerment ceremony come just few days after the governor show kindness by granting amnesty to seven inmates of di Nigeria Correctional Centre as part of him birthday celebration. E dey clear say Aiyedatiwa dey try as him fit, both for the women and those wey dey behind bars. Time go tell how di beneficiaries go use dia skills – but one thing wey sure be say, dem don start journey to make life beta!
