Dem carry am come court on Monday after di Department of State Services (DSS) come reshuffle di case, make Sowore na im alone dey face di fire. E don drop di two big companies, Meta Platforms Inc. and X Corporation (formerly Twitter), as dem no want any wahala with dem again. Dis one show say dem don zero in on Sowore, and he be di only one wey dem dey eye for dis cybercrime case.
Di first time wey dem carry Amoyele enter court na December 2, 2025, but dis time, di prosecution don change wetin dem dey talk. Dem say Sowore post something wey no true on August 25, 2025, for him verified X handle, and di post fit cause trouble for Nigeria.
Sowore come talk say: “Dis criminal @officialABAT really get mouth to lie say corruption don finish under im regime. Na wah!” Di prosecution talk say dat one fit be cyberstalking, and dem even quote law wey fit land am for serious wahala according to di Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) (Amendment) Act, 2024.
As dem read di amended charge, Sowore no gree say im guilty, so di case don continue. But di wahala no finish there o! Di defence lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, come show dem sey di prosecution no ready for trial at all. E argue say di charge no even show who go testify against Sowore, so dem no fit plan properly for di case.
Di prosecution, led by Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN), come reply say dem no need to show di witness identity before dem testify. Dem say in case dem want call witness wey don dey present for court, di defence fit request for adjournment to prepare.
Justice Umar wey dey oversee di case come give order make di prosecution provide di defence with witness statements before di next hearing. Dem don set di matter for Thursday, January 22, 2026, make dem hear wetin go happen next.
