Nonye Ayeni, wey be Chief Executive Officer for Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), she come gree yarn this gist on top one progress report wey she drop for Abuja. She talk say the numbers no just big, dem don show say we dey make sense for this non-oil sector. If dem check well, we see say e don increase by 11.5% weh no be small!
No forget say this non-oil exports matter no be just figures, e dey cover plenty sectors. Agriculture, processed goods, and even our minerals don join the mix. This year alone, we export 281 non-oil products, so e dey clear say we dey make our way put for global trade, no be joke!
But no be all rosy, oh. Nonye still tall say plenty trade dey happen for ground wey no dey enter government records at all; people dey carry things cross border without official wahala. Na so e be, and NEPC dey work with National Bureau of Statistics and Central Bank to make sure say all the informal trade wey dey happen fit join the official statistics.
She talk say dem go increase effort for 2026 with new reforms, incentives and plenty training wey go help exporters. Na wetin we need to be stronger, because make we yan true, naira don dey wobble because of oil prices, so we fit reduce that wahala through non-oil exports.
