Na over 50 shops dem dey talk say e gree catch fire, and goods wey worth millions of naira don go up in smoke. Na the governor, Ahmed Aliyu, wey come check wetin dey happen, come show concern like big paddy for community.
Aliyu talk say this fire no be just ordinary matter, e affect everybody for Sokoto State, no be only the traders wey lose their goods. E don vow say government go step in to support those wey dey suffer from this inferno. Abeg hear wetin e talk: “We go stand gidigba for our traders, this government no go abandon una.”
Na true talk be that! As people dey mourn their losses, Aliyu encourage dem make dem no lose hope, say God sabi wetin e dey do. E see Old Market as one big economic center, wey dey feed many families for Sokoto.
The Governor no forget to salute the Sokoto Fire Service wey respond sharp-sharp to control the fire before e spread reach other shops. Chika Sarkin Gishiri, the Chairman of Sokoto State Traders Association, also open mouth say the damage plenty but thank God say no life lost.
Sarkin Gishiri dey appeal to government make dem come rescue their business from this big loss wey don happen. E sweet dem say Aliyu dey always stand by traders for their tough times. “We dey believe say he go always show us support,” na wetin he talk.
