Recently, he come clear the air as people dey talk any how about NSI. Him talk say NSI no be for only small group of people o, but na national center wey go help sugar industry for Nigeria shine well well. Dem establish am for June 2019 and dem launch am officially for January 2021 for Ilorin, Kwara State.
Bakrin explain say, dem create NSI to make sure say sugar sector go get quality planting materials, trained workers and expert wey sabi wetin dem dey do. E get bio-factory and tissue culture labs wey dey help with research and development of sugar cane, so that our sugar industry go dey grow without wahala. Now, sugar operators don dey use their services well, as dem they provide seedcane, training and technical support.
Speaking about the reforms wey dem don do since Bakrin enter NSDC, e talk say e don set plenty things in order. Dem dey strengthen the governance system and dey align NSI with global best practices, thanks to KPMG wey help dem carry out the reforms. Over 60 staff of NSI don receive special training for how to manage projects, engage stakeholders and even learn how to maintain laboratory equipment. Na big deal! This training no be small, o!
Also, Bakrin don launch Boot Camp initiative wey go make NSI na national training hub for sugar processing. Dem dey teach people everything from how to refine sugar to quality control and safety measures wey go protect our environment. Simple but effective!
E no be lie, the way dem dey position NSI don start to dey show impact. For example, dem don organize joint technical training for Golden Sugar Estate for Sunti, Niger State, and also train new staff for BUA-owned Lafiagi Sugar Company (LASUCO) for Kwara State. E bi like say NSI dey work magic!
For Bakrin mouth, the reforms wey NSI dey implement be like solid foundation for the institute to fulfill wetin dem dey plan. “We dey talk say NSI go turn to credible national center of excellence for sugar industry,” he talk as e dey ginger us with hope say plenty good things go come from this sugar initiative.
