At about 2:31 pm, one petrol tanker wey dey carry 45,000 litres of petrol just land for Olumo Filling Station, Oko-Olowo Junction, when fire just burst from the vehicle. E be like movie, my guys!
According to the Kwara State Fire Service, na after dem receive emergency call, dem spring into action sharp-quick. The tanker just land from Lagos; as dem dey discharge fuel, fire just show its ugly head. But no fear, the firefighters rush come like superheroes wey don train finish, and them control the fire with serious professional skills.
The spokesperson of the Fire Service, PFO Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, talk say e no easy at all. Dem fit save the filling station and surrounding buildings from serious damage. If dem no show, the fire fit turn this whole area to ashes. Na serious matter be that!
Nah, the Director of the Fire Service, CFS Alabi Muhammed, commended the firefighters. E dey emphasized say their quick response and gallant efforts don prevent major loss of life and property. He come also advise filling station owners and fuel transporters make dem dey follow safety protocols well-well because this kind fire no be play.
The wahala wey happen make dem realize say safety no be small thing. E no good make fire outbreak dey happen anyhow, especially for places wey dey carry flammable materials. The Fire Service dey plan to start investigation to find out wetin really cause the fire. We just dey hope say e no go be something wey go happen again for this area.
