Farmers dey shout, climate change don turn market for weyrey!

Abeg, make we gist! Farmers for South-West Nigeria don gather for Cocoa House, Ibadan, come yarn about serious matter wey dey worry dem: climate change! E no be small thing this one o, as dem don realize say rain wey dey fall no go fit carry dem go far again.

Asalu Olusegun, one farmer wey sabi wetin e dey talk, don clear say make dem stop to depend on rain-fed agriculture wey dey bad belle. E talk say dis December rain wey e dey see na new trend, and e don show say climate change na wahala wey go stay for our necks. If we no change, e fit make food dey scarce for our side.

Omo, wetin dis Nigeria government dey do? According to Asalu, dem suppose focus on irrigation agriculture. He come remind us say we get earth dams and River Basin Authorities for our side—so make dem work on top am. Na so other countries dey do am, and e dey help dem produce food throughout the year!

But wait, e no dey forget security matter. E talk say herders and farmers for di region dey get good relationship, na only intruders dey cause wahala. Dem don involve DAWN Commission and Ministry of Livestock to keep peace—na so dem dey move for 2025 to make sure everybody dey enjoy better farm life.

As he dey sing praises for the collaboration, he urge other farmer groups make dem join hand together. Unity na wetin go help dem solve the food wahala. ‘Abeg, make we gather and support government make dem handle this food crisis for our region,’ he beg.

Meanwhile, Seye Oyeleye wey be DAWN Commission Director don promise say dem go work with farmers to boost food production. E talk say if dem wan chop federal government money, dem gatz dey united. Na everybody gatz work together to fit achieve self-sufficiency in food production.

E don hammer am say, ‘We no dey compete amoung ourselves again. Our aim na to stand strong together like one big family.’ Dem sabi say na teamwork go help dem jam the success wey dem dey find.

As farmers dey plan their agriculture future, dem dey call on government to give dem modern tools and irrigation systems. E no go fit work well if we no fit engage our youths, make dem no carry vex and run away because dem dey see old methods wey no get sense.
