Na wah o! Na so Nigeria crude oil production drop again for December, tuale!
As e be, we don dey hear say Nigeria produce 1.422 million barrels per day (bpd) for December. E don fall small from 1.436 million bpd wey dem report for November. Dis wahala dey show say we never fit meet our OPEC+ production target wey dey sit at 1.5 million bpd.
Na five months in a row we don dey fail to hit dat target. E be like say wahala for the oil sector no go gree allow us shine. OPEC talk say dem check well well and dis drop na 0.7 percent from what we produce for November.
But wait o! Secondary sources wey dey observe oil production say Nigeria manage push the figure reach 1.5 million bpd for December, na wetin dey make plenty people dey scratch head. How we go fit get figures wey no agree?
Even NNPC too dey chop hope, dey talk say November output get some small rise, as dem report say e dey about 1.6 million bpd, wey mix both crude and condensate together. But OPEC no fit accept condensate for dem calculations, so e mean say we still dey lag behind.
Omo, dem no dey slack for NNPC o! Dem don talk say dem go increase production, make we dey watch how dem go manage dat move as we dey enter 2026. Dem get plan to dey pump 3 million bpd by 2030, make e no be jinx talk.
As we dey talk, Nigeria still dey maintain im position as top oil producer for Africa, even as Libya dey try shine eye. But as crude prices dey fluctuate for market, wahala for supply dey loom from Iran, and we dey wonder wetin go happen next.
NNPC don dey talk say dem go intensify collaborations to boost production and make sure say all facilities dey run well. Dis na good move, but time go tell if dem go fit achieve am.
Nigeria oil production dey face serious wahala, from pipeline vandalism to labour issues and even security threats. As we dey hope for brighter days ahead, we still need understand wetin dey affect our sector movement as we dey step into 2026.
