Omo, Lagos no wan hear word again o! Dem don seal plenty plazas, malls, and illegal market structures for Ojuelegba and Tejuosho Market because of environmental wahala. Na Bayo Mogaji, the LAWMA Head of Department for Lagos/Badagry Axis, wey drop this bombshell on Thursday.
According to Bayo, dis action come as a result of serious complaints wey dem dey receive from public, say people dey turn road, drainage, and open space to dumping ground. Wetin be this now? Na so Lagos dey turn to refuse city? E no sweet at all, my people. Dem talk say these practices dey put our health for risk and even dey increase flooding wahala for area.
Bayo Mogaji no gree play as e quote the big boss of LAWMA, Muyiwa Gbadegesin. E talk say the way some people dey throw waste anyhow na slap for Lagos’ megacity status. He even talk say the Ojuelegba–Tejuosho area no fit turn to environmental jungle, because e dey one of di busy places for Lagos. We gats maintain am well!
Bayo continue dey yarn about the case like say e dey vex. “Na big shame say after all di sensitisation and waste collection services wey dey available, some traders still dey act like say dem no sabi correct way to manage waste. Dis intervention na to correct the matter and restore order,” e talk.
He also drop another gist say dem go keep the plazas sealed until everywhere clean and everybody obey the environmental rules. LAWMA no go sit down fold hand; dem go join forces with Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps to dey monitor everywhere. If you dey flout law, just know say dem go punish you well well.
As Bayo talk, “We go dey enforce and we go no gree make anybody spoil our environment.” E plenty serious matter and we for sure dey look into am sharp sharp. So, if you dey Ojuelegba area, better make sure say your waste dey enter correct bin, or you fit find trouble with LAWMA.
