UNILAG Grad Takes Over: 7,836 New Bed Spaces dey land soon!

My people, how far? Na serious gist I get for you today! E be like say UNILAG don announce fresh big plans wey go make dem students dey smile. You sabi say dem don graduate 16,506 students for their 56th convocation? Na wah! Na 617 of dem even collect first-class honours!

This matter wey concern education no dey ordinary oh. The di vice-chancellor, Folasade Ogunsola, no dey play. Dem convocation ceremony go start on January 16, and e go chook head till January 25. And make I tell you, dem grad pipo no be small! Na 709 undergraduates wey get first class and distinctions, and plenty others dey follow.

For us to sabi the faculties wey sabi plenty, the Management Sciences dey top with 180 first-class students. E no stop there o! Engineering get 89, Life Sciences, 43, and Social Sciences, 42. Na wah! As for the postgraduate students, 502 of dem get distinctions, while dem Business School gree make 32 distinctions too!

Na Chukwuzubelu Benedict wey dey shine for Department of Business Administration, e carry the overall best graduating student title with perfect score of 5.0. Omo! And Deborah Isiowa from Architecture sef no dey far, she shine with CGPA of 4.91. Na wah! See how dem dey display brain!

Ogunsola talk say UNILAG no dey sleep on top number one ranking matter. They don still maintain their first position for Nigeria, co-sharing am with University of Ibadan for the 2026 Times Higher Education Ranking. Dem dey represent wella for research quality and industry too. Last last, dem even win the award for most international African institution from West Africa. Na good news!

Now, the big one wey dey come be say, dem don plan to add 7,836 new bed spaces for campus by 2027. E be say UNILAG don get 10,599 bed spaces, but e no dey enough. Na why dem dey call contractors to come work faster! Ogunsola clear say this new matter get better plans oh: TETFund and PPP dey involved. Na work for everybody!

But no be say dem go fit control the price for private hostels, because maintain power dey cost plenty money. E go tough to regulate price when electricity wey students dey use fit burst for head! E be like say na plenty factors dey there. Na so power matter dey carry wahala.
