Dis pikin wey be daughter of Olusoji Fasuba, former Naija sprinter, don collect South of England Indoor 60m title for Lee Valley Athletics Centre for London last Saturday. E clock 7.51 seconds, wey no too far from im club record, wey she set for her first race for this season back in December 2025.
As if na joke dey play, dis 14-year-old girl show say she no dey play with her running, as she win her heat for 7.90 seconds, then plank for semi-final come improve am to 7.68 seconds. But wait, no stop there, she come back 20 minutes later after semi-final come dey grab di title. Na real talent dis baby get o!
Dis season, Annabelle don step up to U-17 category since December 2025, and right from di jump, she don break both U-17 and U-20 club records with 7.50 seconds. E clear say she dey waka fast pass wetin she do last year, as last season she run 7.60 seconds to open, but now na 7.50 seconds. Na so she dey break ground, dey shine bright.
Last year, Annabelle finish strong with 34 wins out of 54 races and only one second-place finish for semi-final. She dey run both 100m and 200m events like say na the only thing wey dey on her mind. For di England Athletics Age Group Championships for August 2025, she don lower di championship record for 100m from 11.82 seconds to 11.73 seconds, and she also finish di 200m with 24.02 seconds. Naija don bring another champion!
Her papa, Olusoji Fasuba no fit hide di joy. He come dey hail her coach, Neal Edwards, wey don guide her since di beginning, say for just one year and nine months, dem don produce di 60m, 100m and 200m national champion. Talk about glow-up, na dis be am!
