Chai! My people, wetin dey happen for Ondo State o! Staff wey work for University of Medical Sciences don dey waka up and down, all to find their hard-earned salary wey don vanish for 10 whole months! You no go believe am, but na true wah be dis.
According to wetin sweet mouth say, dis staff, both academic and non-academic, dem don work since February and March 2025 but their money wey suppose follow dem no show up till now. Na serious case be dis! Dem dey appeal to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa make e no let dem suffer for this matter.
One of the staff wey no wan show face talk say, “We dey suffer! Since I get my appointment, dem no pay me one kobo. We dey beg the governor to come rescue us.” E go shock you say some of dem even get appointment letters as far back as February, but na only empty bell dem dey ring since dem start work.
Another staff wey wan keep im name for ground talk say, na wahala wey dey between two vice-chancellors of the university cause all this wahala. Them don carry the matter go meet government, but as e be, them no fit see any light yet. E no go funny if dem dey collect salary in spirit!
Dem dey use staff email and dem don even get their duties but moneys? E be like say am don turn to ghost work! Na wetin we fit call proper employment without pay? Na wetin dem they do to our people for dis country?
When dem contact the state Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Igbekele Ajibefun, e confirm say e don dey handle the matter. E come assure say soon, the staff go start to dey chop their money. But my pipo, we go wait and see how e go play out.
As e stand now, dis matter don turn to hot gist for town as all eyes dey on the governor to see wetin e go do to put things right. We dey hope say dem go fit resolve am make these hardworking folks no suffer again. Abeg, make dem pay dem their money jare, no be only babe dem go dey collect salary for Ondo!
