The agreement wey dem sign for October 2025 na him show say 20 oil marketers go dey lift 30 million litres each month from Dangote Refinery. But now, we hear say the deal don break down. Sources wey no wan show face yan say, ‘E no go work again o! Wey pricing matter don cause problem, everybody dey run their own race now.’ You fit imagine na!
The whole palava begin as fuel price wey dem agree don change like igbo music. Initially, dem sell am at N806 per litre, but by November, dey wanted to bring am down according to wetin dey happen for international market. But Dangote no gree change! Na so everybody begin to dey import fuel like say dem wan drop bomber for market!
So we no fit deny say importation don rise well well, from 828 million litres in October to 1.563 billion litres in November. Na serious giddiness wey dey happen here! But wait, as the marketers dey complain, one of dem, Chinedu Ukadike, still dey talk say, ‘We dey buy direct from Dangote, e no dey give us problem.’ Wetin this one mean? E mean say some people dey benefit while others dey suffer!
The marketers dey run reports say dem no see any shortage, but other marketers dey raise eyebrows say di whole deal na just noise as dem still dey import small small to balance the table. Edwin Ogah wey be another marketer talk say, ‘We dey imports, but na for security matter; we no wan make any scarcity happen.’ You fit follow the gist?
But make we no forget say Dangote don dismiss all these wahala, say e dey function well. Dem say no be true say dem dey shut down or maintain; everything dey waka as usual, producing 50 million litres daily like say na jollof rice dem dey serve! E still dey give marketers chance to buy am direct now, that one fit bring smally competition but we go see as time dey go.
As fuel price dey play hide and seek, we dey pray say will fit balance the market soon. In the meantime, e be like say everybody just dey hustle to take advantage of the situation. As dem say, ‘No man for this hustle wherever them fit land, we go follow that road!’ Na so we go keep dey watch as the matter dey unfold.
