The incident happen on Sunday, January 11, 2026, when those suspected sea pirates, wey dey operate with two speedboats and one wooden boat, hijack the passengers wey dey travel from Nigeria go Cameroon. E no be small wahala, but thankfully, soldiers wey dey stationed for Ikang no waste time, as dem jump into action when dem hear distress call.
According to Major Yemi Sokoya, wey be the Assistant Director for Army Public Relations of 13 Brigade, the soldiers quickly chase after the criminals. Na so dem enter fire exchange wey gree one of the pirates’ speedboats capsized. The pirates no fit carry their victims again, dem just run go hide for nearby creeks.
