For the solemn ceremony wey happen for Sokoto on Sunday, plenty military big men, veterans, and families of dead soldiers gather for the Ginger Barracks church to pay respect. E no easy as dem dey remember those wey don sacrifice wetin no fit price for our country.
Brigadier General Raphael Okoroji, wey represent the GOC, don talk am clear say this day na for we to honour our heroes, but also to focus on the soldiers wey still dey face battle. He remind everybody say troop welfare na very important matter. If soldiers no dey alright, how dem go fit figh? If their family dey suffer, e go affect their mind and morale.
Okoroji talk say the government and Army High Command dey work hard to make sure say life for military people improve well well. Dem dey look into better living conditions, healthcare, dey also dey assure say post-service benefits go dey improve for dem. Na so e suppose be, as these people dey put their life for front line to protect we all.
Na him say President Bola Tinubu don show strong commitment to military welfare, as e dey continue policies wey go support veterans and help dem wey don get injury for battle. Na serious matter o! As soldiers dey fight Boko Haram, ISWAP, and other bad guys, we wey dey enjoy peace for house no fit forget the sacrifices dem don make.
Some widows wey attend the ceremony dey appreciate the respect dem dey receive, and dem talk say the annual gathering dey help remind dem say their husbands dey fight for better Nigeria. One widow talk say the recognition dey bring comfort, as e dey show say the love wey dem lost no be in vain.
But, make we clear, Okoroji talk say respect no suppose end for just ceremony; e suppose turn to action. Our fallen heroes deserve am. Our wounded soldiers and retired personnel deserve am. Our serving troops and their families must see better support as well. Dis na the time for we to take care of dem properly.
As we dey prepare for January 15, make we all remember say na our unified effort go help maintain peace and stability for Naija. The 8 Division wey dey Sokoto still dey lead the charge against banditry for the North-West, dey collaborate with other security agencies to restore peace for communities wey dey affected.
For those wey dey inside military, their focus dey on top troop welfare as dem dey believe say e fit boost morale and help dem kkp to perform well. Nobody gree wan go fight without knowing say their family dey alright.
