According to reports, two different notes wey dem find for front and back of one building wey dey there, dey warn people say make dem prepare for wahala. One of the notes na Yoruba, wey get title wey read ‘Lati Odo Bandit.’ E talk say: “E da fun gbogbo Ikoyi-Ile say we go land una January 20. So, make una arrange wahala for us abi?”
The second note na English, and e no hold back as e talk say: “Bandit information. See, three days we work for you. Government send us come Ikoyi-Ile. Make you just dey wait for us.” Chai! Them serious o!
As e be like this, the whole Ikoyi-Ile don dey turn vigilante, dey lock their doors up tight and dey look left and right like say na movie. People dey even dey beef up security for their houses. Na so dem go take talk say, ‘no be today we go take shine our eyes.’
Oyo State Police, through their Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, don confirm the palava. E talk say dem don start full investigation to know who write the notes and wetin dem really want. According to am, the person wey discover the notes don dey interview with police people.
The security waka no go end for notes matter alone. The Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, don tell dem to set up patrols, stop-and-search operations plus heavy surveillance for Ikoyi-Ile and area wey surround am. Dem don gather all hands on deck to make sure say bandits no fit penetrate vibe wey dey town.
The police still dey reassure residents say no be anything to panic about; dem dey on top of the matter. Na wetin we go dey expect as dem don increase the police presence and dem urge everybody to dey lookout for any suspicious movement.
