Instead of him dey celebrate with family, he lie down for ground like say him no dey important. Why? Na because one soldier use him gun finish the boy wey just dey try defend him sister from the wickedness of human beings.
Imagine, na just small matter wey the soldier take turn to big, big crime. Timothy and him sister dey come back from church service when him go confront the soldier wey no get any respect for person. Na that moment, the soldier don turn madman and fire shot wey end Timothy life. This one na pure murder, no two ways about am!
Dem suppose teach all dis soldiers say their uniforms no be license to kill. How person go collect bribe or just dey form say na him dey hold power? Timothy dey fight for him sister dignity when him receive that cold bullet. Dis man wey shoot am no fit go scot-free, him suppose face serious punishment, even death penalty wey law dey require.
Omo, Nigeria don turn wahala land, wey security personnel dey act like dem na God. Na dem go come out for street dey shoot innocent people because dem no gree give any bribe. E don too much! Dem no fit just kill person because of small quarrel!
Everybody for Nigeria don hear stories of the bad things wey security agents dey do. Recent examples dey too plenty—like that father wey police kill for traffic matter and plenty other guys wey dem don waste just because dem dey feel too big for dem boots. Why military go dey do na only what dem chop or what dem like? Na for dem to protect us, no be to kill us!
As dis soldier dey hide behind him uniform, e be like say we dey forget say wetin don happen before fit repeat again. Nigerian history dey full with this kind case: How many more must die before we go hear word? Di Apo Six incident, Odi community massacre, all dis don happen before but wetin don change?
Na only when we hold dem accountable that we fit see any change. E go better make dem fit find and punish all dis errant officers. No be to just give token compensation wey no mean anything. If dem fit do am for the Apo Six matter, why dem no fit do am for Timothy? E no just make sense!
Na why we dey call on President Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian Army, and the judiciary to take serious action. Make dem start to investigate dis case, make dem prosecute and reform dem institutions wey dey lead to all dis wahala. Timothy no deserve this kind end; him blood no go dey cry in vain. Nigeria children deserve beta future, no be to dey fear soldiers wey suppose protect dem.
