Omo, as the year dey end, bandits don land for Kwara State like say dem dey celebrate New Year! Last Friday, December 26, 2025, around 6:30 pm, about 20 bandits just show face for Adanla community, straight to the palace of His Royal Majesty, Oba David Adedumoye! Na real wah!
These bandits no even carry vehicle, dem just waka come like say na their home. Dem enter the palace, begin ransack am, looking for who to kidnap. For almost an hour, nobody fit challenge dem. Na only dem, and your sense go tell you say security no dey wey dey this kind matter.
Na so dem carry seven people go, injure two people, and even collect phones and other valuable items. Omo, this one na serious matter! They even take food wey dem prepare for Christmas ceremony—na who go chop Christmas rice now?
As for the monarch, e no dey for palace that day o! E don japa to Ilorin to collect something. Na when e come back, e hear say dem don kidnap im family members. Talk about bad timing!
The bandits even dey ask for the king and im queen when dem enter o, but na only wahala dem find. Dem begin they scatter the palace until soldiers and local vigilantes come, but the fools don run enter bush before dem reach. Na wetin dem wan come do there? Na to catch who wey don disappear?
This kind thing don happen before, but not inside the palace. One woman wey sell charcoal don spend one month for bandits’ den before dem release am after dem collect N5m. Wetin we go do to stop all this madness?
As e be now, the community sabi come together. We dey in dry season, so the forest no dense again. If dem fit burn the bush small, air force go fit dey see everything wey dey happen. Dem supposed don chase the bandits enter corner by now!
Adanla community dey peaceful by nature, and dem no get plenty population, but these security wahala fit change everything. E good make government partner with local vigilantes, dem no dey sleep for the matter, and dem know their turf well. Na collective strength we need to face this bandit problem together.
But as for state police, I no too sure say e go work. E go turn to the same wahala wey we dey face with Nigeria Police! Better make we try something like Amotekun wey dey work for South-West instead. No be say we no go fit change things, but we need road map wey go sabi deliver result.
