The governor wey dey lead this movement, Mohammed Bago, yan say dem dey push for food security and better life for farmers.
As dem sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for Abuja, Bago don hammer am clear say this no be just arrangement, na legit action wey go tackle wetin dey cause wahala for ground—food shortage, bad housing, and all the gbege wey dey affect our people. According to am, Niger State go turn to pilot for this massive plan wey dem sabi as Sustainable Integrated Productive Communities.
Dis project go gather farmers, shelter, and market together; no more say farmers dey run go find land outside or dey sleep for farm because dem no get house! With this new set-up, dem go fit concentrate on their farming wahala while enjoying better living condition.
Governor Bago make am clear say, “We no wan make farmers dey waka far to their farms anymore. This initiative go make dem settle well for where dem dey farm.” And him no dey joke, because Niger State already get strong ground for agriculture because of them mechanisation level wey dey high!
But abeg, no think say na only housing dem dey run—this plan go bring light, water, and good roads! Dem plan for gree farmers access ready market as dem dey grow their crops with proper support, drainage, and even good grazing areas to cool down tension between farmers and herders.
Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, carry her own gist join say this MoU na show say federal and state government dey work together for the betterment of the people. She talk say housing no be just one small problem, e dey link with agriculture and economic stability too. “When farmers dey live for good area with all the neccessary things, dem go produce better and the youth go wan dey farm too,” she add.
As dem dey push for this project, they go make sure sey housing go fit farmers pocket. She say dem go use renewable energy, especially solar to cut down light bills and help the agro-processing wahala. So, na real green growth dem dey plan, no be juju!
Dr. Armstrong Takang, di Managing Director of Ministry of Finance Incorporated, talk say dem dey see dis project as opportunity wey go unlock rural investments and create jobs, jobs, and more jobs! If one house fit create 12 jobs, imagine how many jobs dem go create when dem build plenty! Dis na real hustle wey go dey benefit engineers, builders, and even artisans wey dey look for work!
As dem dey enter implementation phase, Niger State go lead the way for other states wey dey consider similar models to tackle housing and food insecurity. “This one na not just talk, na practical solutions we dey bring to make lives better,” Bago talk full chest.
