Hunye Deny Say Him Be Extortionist, Waste Vendors Don Vex

Chai! Na wetin we dey hear my people? Na Ogun State wey dey gather hot gist as Mr. Abayomi Hunye, wey be the Managing Director of Ogun State Waste Management Agency, don clear am say him no be extortionist wey everybody dey talk about.

For media parley wey dem organize, Hunye come carry him mouth waka enter matter wey dey hot as members of Waste Management Vendors and Recyclers don accuse am of collect money wey no fit enter his account, and say him dey chop money for them hand. He talk say, “I wonder why anybody go refer to money wey dem pay inside government account as extortion.”

As e be, last Monday, waste vendors don carry their placards come protest for Governor’s office, Oke Mosan. Dem write plenty things for their placards like “Hunye Must Go”, “Gov Abiodun rescue us from heartless Hunye”, and others wey fit make am laugh if no be serious matter.

Vendors dey claim say the way wey Hunye dey run di agency don make dem suffer well well. But as Hunye don talk, him no chop any illegal money from their side. Him explain say di increase for yearly registration fee wey go from N100,000 to N200,000 na because dem all agree to am together

Hunye talk say for 2021, dem dey pay N100,000, but by 2024, everybody don understand say cost don rise, so dem discuss am and agree to pay more. Him come ask again, “So wetin be the wahala now?”

Another wahala wey no dey small na say Hunye cancel some members’ multiple registrations. E come talk say as members dey register many companies, dem dey steal opportunities wey suppose go to others. Na there dem come start dey shout say na extortion. Him mention say dem no even complain formally before dey come protest.

But the Association get their own side too. Mrs. Opeoluwa Balogun, wey be the Chairman, don come deny say dem get any faction, she talk say dem just dey try resolve matter wey be like fire wey no fit quench.

Balogun talk say dem don write message and even get recordings wey show say dem don try settle matter without results. She claim say Hunye just dey focus on how to increase registration fees, forgettin di serious things wey dey happen like unlicensed vendors wey dey disturb their own hustle.
