Chai! Wahala don land as Federal High Court for Lagos don throw away case wey Oba Kazeem Salami carry come, against Dr Ken Uwaifo and others. E be like say this traditional ruler dey vex for how dem treat am over land matter for Eti-Osa Local Government Area.
The matter wey dem mark FHC/L/CS/815/2020 no too sweet for mouth, as Justice Alexander Owoeye drop the judgment for December 4, 2025. E talk say the applicants no fit follow fundamental rights suit like that, since dem no meet the conditions wey dey required.
Salami and hin people dey complain say Lagos State Task Force and police don dey harass dem over land wey get 107.877 hectares for Odo-Nikin, Alasia Village from 2018 to 2020. Dem dey claim say dem rights don jam, and dem even demand N350 million as damages because of all the wahala.
But the court yan say no be so e go be. E tell dem say dem dey try use fundamental rights to run away from criminal allegations—like say dem wan turn am to babe for another matter. Justice Owoeye even remind dem say dem suppose face magistrate court matter while this civil case dey progress.
Make I burst your brain: the court even talk say if dem want file case, e go better make dem go one by one if dem no get the same wahala. E conclude say dem no fit just bundle all their issues together as one, no be so e dey work for the law.
Before this one, Lagos High Court don already dismiss another case wey involve the Fatimot Sosan Ope family for same land matter. Dem cry say dem land dey under attack and dem need court to save am, but the judge, Justice Olabisi Akinlade, tell dem say dem no show say dem get any strong ground for the court to act.
Wahala full ground, as the defendants, wey include Lagos State Governor and other high-profile persons, show evidence say dem get proper documents and approvals for the land—like say dem no dey do magic. As per say dem don follow due process, court na dem side.
Justice Akinlade talk say make the claimants dey patient, as dem go wait for full trial before dem fit near the land matter again. “If you no show, no wahala, make we hear the real case first” na wetin she dey talk for court.
As dem dey fly this news, everybody dey reason the implications wey this court decision go carry go for traditional rulers and their land palava. E go make dem think well before dem jump enter court like say na free ticket wey dem suppose collect.
