Chai! Na wetin be dis? Rumor don dey fly say Dangote refinery don shut down for maintenance, but omoh, na big lie! Make I gist you how e dey go.
Sources wey sabi mata as e be don clear say refinery never close shop at all. Anthony Chiejina, wey be spokesman for Dangote Group, come dey yarn say all those gist na fake news dey try confuse people.
Last week, plenty news outlets carry the gist say Dangote refinery don slow down, but e no true at all. Dem talk say marketers dey use this yarn take justify their wahala increase for fuel price, dem wan make their own profit. Wetin no sweet pass, na say last Saturday alone, Dangote refinery load 43.3 million litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). You sabi wetin dat mean? E don pass half of wetin Nigeria dey consume daily. Na serious flow be dat!
Yet, even with all dis large supply, some depots don start to raise their prices to N800 per litre. Na wah! E no even reach two weeks since Dangote don slash their price from N828 to N699 per litre, and now people go don dey chop losses again.
Some sources from inside the refinery dey talk say dem get enough stock wey go last for more than 20 days for the whole country. Na so dem advise Nigerians make dem only dey buy fuel from filling stations wey dey sell Dangote products, so that dem no go fall victim for market wahala. Those wey dey raise prices don dey create problem for energy sector.
And dem don come out again to say make we no believe anything wey we hear pass wetin dem dey confirm. As e be now, average price of gasoline for private depots don go up within 48 hours, and people dey fear say pump price fit jump again.
Now, back to Dangote. Dis guy na real boss for the business world! E don dey do big things since last year. According to reports, Aliko Dangote don become the first African wey don reach net worth of $30 billion. Even this refinery wey don open now dey process 650,000 barrels of crude oil daily. E fit supply all Nigeria needs plus still get enough for international market.
All dis matter just dey show say Dangote Group no dey play with them work. Na why dem dey encourage marketers make dem sell at N699 per litre so we go fit enjoy better fuel price. Dem also talk say if no be for their refinery, na so petrol price for Nigeria fit dey reach N1,400 per litre!
At the end of the day, make una no let false reports put you for wahala. Dangote Refinery dey commit to carry their own people along and make sure say fuel dey plenty, stable, and cheap for all Nigerians. We go keep our ear for ground and dey observe wetin dey happen, but make nobody dey lie us about wetin dey happen for our refinery!
