Na wah! This Christmas, JamaJama don scatter ground for Makoko, Sabo, Yaba as dem gather over 100 artisans and children to jolly and empower dem.

Dem hold skills and community empowerment event wey no go fit for any normal Christmas party. Na so dem provide starter packs, artisan tools, school books, food items, and all the koko wey people need to level up.

To make am more sweet, local artisans sef dey cook food wey dem chop together, all dis na to foster community and make sure everyone enjoy correct hands-on experience.

As Abiola Sodiq wey be the Chief Operating Officer of JamaJama yan for interview, dem aim na to connect young artisans with dem potential clients. Sodiq yan say, ‘In the past, artisans dey misunderstood, but now, na dem wey learn practical skill be the real sense.’ Na serious matter be that!

Dis initiative no be just for the cooking, but to encourage children and other young people make dem embrace skills wey go run alongside formal education. Na di beta plan wey dem get for dis side.

JamaJama no dey sleep o, dem get bigger plans as dem go launch their digital platform wey go allow registered users to showcase their skills and link up with clients wey dey need them waka. Wetin Sodiq talk? Many artisans don register since dem launch the platform last year and dem don finish over 100 jobs already!

Dem wan make sure sey participants no dey lack tools to carry work. Dem give out hairdryers for stylists, paintbrushes for painters, electrical gloves for electricians, and even clippers for barbers. Omoh! Dem really try!

Sodiq come clarify am say, ‘Dis initiative no be about profit. E dey about creating opportunities, nurturing talent, and building strong community of skilled artisans.’ She no stop there, dem get plans to partner with Government agencies like National Directorate of Employment to help young artisans wey dey come up.

Wetin be the koko wey dey happen now? JamaJama dey focus on practical skills as way to employment and entrepreneurship especially for places wey people dey under-served like Makoko. Dem digital platform go fully launch di app by January, so artisans and clients fit connect no wahala.
