Chai! My people, no be small matter o! Bode George, wey don dey run politics since 1900, don come drop some serious gist on top democracy for Naija. Dis man wey be former Deputy National Chairman of PDP, talk say democracy no fit work if we no get strong opposition.
According to am, if we dey carry face go one direction, na so we go dey go back to dictatorship level. E talk say, ‘Democracy thrives on a plurality of ideas, not the silence of the graveyard.’ Abeg, wetin you go call dis one? E be like say e don hit am for head!
E come expose wetin dey happen to some governors like Bala Mohammed and Seyi Makinde, dem dey harass dem like say dem no fit air their mind again. George talk say, dis kain wahala na serious attack on federalism. No be small wahala o!
He no just stop there, e also caution say if dem continue to dey intimidate people wey get different opinion, we fit dey move towards authoritarianism. Na wetin we want for Naija? No o! E don warn say if we dey put pressure on opposition, na so our democracy go dey suffer.
Dis Bode George don open him mouth well well, e dey rise up for INEC Chairman too, e dey urge dem to maintain fairness and transparency. E say, ‘The era of miracle results and technical glitches must end.’ My brothers and sisters, how far we fit trust dis election wahala if dem no shine their eyes?
E also talk about the economy, how Federal Government fit take dey impose taxes wey go make life hard for the common man. ‘Revenue generation na good thing, but e no suppose come as survival wahala for people,’ na wetin e yarn.
As e dey talk about Venezuela, e fit make sense well well. E don show us say when leaders dey prioritize power instead of people, that na the beginning of the end. Na so e tell us say make leaders respect democratic institutions, listen to opposing views, and make sure say welfare of Nigerian people dey intact.
George dey shout say, ‘The soul of our nation depends on it!’ No be joke my people, we need to wake up and dey follow dis matter well well. Our democracy dey hang for the balance, and we all need to join hand together to make am work!
